The Yeshivah Beth Rivkah Preschools, for children aged 3-5 years, operate from seven centres in the St Kilda East and Brighton areas. At our preschools, we believe that positive self-esteem and self-concept are essential for optimal learning and development in children. Staff members are committed to caring for the individual needs of every child and creating an atmosphere where children feel valued and respected. The Jewish and General program is meaningful and rich in materials and instruction and centre experiences are designed to foster intellectual as well as physical, social and emotional development. At Yeshivah Beth Rivkah Preschools we value the concept of a family. When your child enters our Kindergarten, he or she becomes part of our pre-school family.
Our preschools are fully accredited by the National Childcare Accreditation Council receiving the highest possible grading in each of the 52 Principles of Accreditation. At a recent Accreditation inspection, the Accreditation reviewer commented: "The interaction between staff and children was characterised by smiling, laughter, cheerful discussion and singing. May I add how wonderful I believe your program is - varied, exciting and educational."
Each student is encouraged to recognise their own self worth and that through the particular gifts and abilities that G-d has bestowed upon them, they are able to better the world.
The pledge of our colleges is to provide educational challenges for students of widely different abilities and widely divergent backgrounds.
Essential to the school philosophy is the need to maintain a warm, positive and co-operative environment in which students can grow and learn. Such a nurturing environment is deemed vital for the development of self esteem, and confidence.
The Gurewicz Early Learning Centres aim to develop the “whole person", and as such provide a balance of social, religious and general themes as well as life skills, to promote the child's complete personal development.
We provide a program for the individual child's abilities, needs, and interests, which is child-centred, developmentally appropriate and culturally based. This program provides a balance between safety, security, interests, encouragement and challenges for the child, within both structured and unstructured environments, and encourages involvement and participation by parents, as staff and parents are considered working partners. |
